When you die/or are killed, and you have a chest in your inventory, all your stuff will fill into the chest. Very useful if you are working around Lava XD. If you also have a sign, then it will lock the chest so no one except you can open it. Although I've heard of some glitches...

ofcourse you can. Its only illegal to camp someones deathchest when its already dropped. With camping someones deathchest I mean preventing someone to reach their deathchest.
