Really, kid? It's simple: when you place your sponge, it will protect an area of
15 blocks up and down,
15 blocks left and right,
and 15 blocks forward and backwards.
Think of it as an invisible cube that can hold 15 blocks in each edge.
And if you still really want to know, the TOTAL amount of blocks it can hold (15x15x15), it is 3,375 blocks.

Incorrect with your dimensions geek... It is a 15x15x15 cube, not 31x31x31. So it is 7 left and right, up and down

I should have worded that differently. I what I ment was the left and right combined, or that you could line up 15 blocks in your cube and they would all be protected.
