New PvP Rules!

PvP allowed everywhere!

If you don't want pvp in your town:
1. Buy a protection stone at /spawn
2. Place protection stone.
3. Use this command while in the protected area: "/ps flag pvp deny"

Simple!

Moved this to announcements so everyone can see this so there's no excuse... Now everyone: FIGHT!

Why was there no vote or anythign on this? I just wasted the last few days building and such just for the server to turn into another shady pvp server?

I really don't appreciate going out for supplies and being killed by someone and loosing all my stuff. I like relaxing and minding my own business, hence why i built my house in a remote location. If this isnt undone im going elsewhere to play. not trying to push my non-existant authority around however I have had way too many bad experiences on these kind of servers and servers with 14 year old admins who don't listen to any feedback. Hence my anger

Not sure if that was in insult or not but this was a carefully calculated decision, we have been a pvp server since the start although it was sort of frowned upon in most cases. This however caused tons of problems for the staff having to deal with dozens of people complaining about the fuzzy pvp rules. They are no longer fuzzy, this will also help to space out spawn and encourage people to explore and define their own areas.

The moderators and admins were all in agreement about this. And there was a vote actually, in a post daark made in suggestions a while back, it came out in favour of the new rules.

If you dont want to be attacked then protect your area, nothings changed here except that now you can physically set your region to make it impossible for damage to be dealt to players.

I can barley afford to protect my area the way it is. I can't protect an entire forest or mine?!?!

I didn't find it hard to build up the cash for PS, in under a week I had 3 11x11 areas up and protected... Grow some.

First of all, weren't the rules ALREADY that if you weren't in a city/worldguarded area, you could be killed? Why is it suddenly an inconvenience that the rule is made more publicized?

I'm fine with the new rule, I have a new unnanounced neighbor who I can now kill until they leave. I went 7,000 block from spawn to be alone, not to have people move in next to me. (If anyone is wondering, 7k blocks is about 20 min of walking)

The rules got fuzzy when a person was killed in their own house or on their own p-stone space, where they have obviously claimed an area but just haven't protected it from pvp yet. Now it's cut-and-dry: if you're not in a /pvp denied area, you can be killed, even if you have a p-stone and just failed to set up the flag.

I don't see what others are complaining about. With the death chest system working again and a chest and sign being easy to make, no one should lose anything besides xp (which even VIPs won't lose).

Nunphix, we always were a pvp server. This isn't making it shady at all. This is clarifying and putting solid boundaries.

We were unable to check if you were actually killed in your home before. ProtectionStones start at $1000. That's 1/3 the selling price of 1 diamond. Find 1 diamond, sell to server, get 3 PStones.

We didn't make protection crazy expensive.

If you were on Staff, you would realize what a pain in the ass it is when you have 10 kids crying to you everyday about someone TPing to them and killing them. Or killing them in their area. Or luring them out of their house then killing them. Etc etc etc.

If you don't want to be on our server, that's fine. But, don't for a second think that our decisions aren't carefully thought through. We choose what is best for the server and best for our people.

lol miner you are probably the only griefer that got banned and is still active on the forum afterwards

Someone gave me 10,000 when i first joined which i used mainly to secure my land. But I wasnt able to secure it all plus I live on a mountain away from everyone and I built a giant staircase leading down. So to actually prevent shady people from killing me when im out listening to music chillen gathering stuff etc I would need to secure quite a lot of land, not just my house.

I even said it in my application, thats the one thing I hate. Its bad enough getting suprise damage from mobs I dont need some prick coming up behind me on my land and killing me and taking all my stuff. Like what if I dont have a chest? Or what if the chest expires before I can get back?

Remember there aren't multiple homes for non donators so we have to walk everywhere. And I like exploring and stuff. But this limits that and makes it "shady"

I have no problems with the new rules.
I have no problem making money, it's easy, just think about it
I have no problem because I think mass production.
Oh, and I go on diamond mining hunts, they may take a while but thy are very profitable
when you find them and mine them

Just a little message to those of you who use x-ray... Why do it? Not only is it cheating but
it takes the fun out of it! In fact, any cheating takes the fun out of it.

Play by the rules and have fun!

Nunphix, besides living far away we have death chests (carry a sign and chest) that lock when you die.

PLUS

You can hide yourself on DynMap if you're afraid of people stalking you that way. Use /dynmap hide.

If you don't like the rules, that's okay as well. I'm sure you can find a server that suits ya! Or go start your own, like I did

Eh, Its a sticky isn't it? I think if its at the top already, It doesn't matter how old it is, it can be commented on. I wouldn't mind if someone added the no camping death chests to the rules. If it is a bannable offense, it should be included in the rules. I'm sure it will be. The rules at the moment only say harassment which can refer to many things.
